Kolehiyo ng Subic, the first community college in the Province of Zambales, was founded in 2002 by Castillejos Mayor Jeffrey Khonghun when he was still the Municipal Mayor of Subic, Zambales. It celebrated its 22nd Founding Anniversary on September 26 and September 27 where a competition on field demonstration was held on its opening day of September 26. It was participated by both students and Instructors from the four departments, namely Business Education Department, Hospitality Management Department, Teacher Education Department, and Computer Studies Department.
The program started with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, Bagong Pilipinas Hymn, Zambales Hymn, and the Kolehiyo ng Subic Hymn.Opening remarks were delivered by the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Teacher Education Department, Dr. Helen G. Gacillos.
She talked about the humble beginnings of the Kolehiyo. where it had less than 20 instructors and fewer than 100 students participating in the said celebration. 22 years after, the Kolehiyo is now the premier community college serving the province of Zambales with an increasing enrollment of students that has recently grew to thousands, along with it are the growing number of instructors, some that are even graduates.What followed was the oath-taking of the incoming Supreme Student Government with incoming President, Lourdes Pauline G. Gacillos leading the charge.
Lastly, the highlight of the celebration was the unveling of the countdown for the Kolehiyo’s Silver Jubilee (25th Founding Anniversary) which will happen in 155 weeks
