Kolehiyo Ng Subic (KNS), through the leadership of its College President Dr. Rosely H. Agustin, continues to widen its educational reach as it formally entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Local Government Unit of Castillejos, headed by Hon. Jeffrey D. Khonghun, Municipal Mayor. The MOA Signing, held at the Municipal Hall of Castillejos, marks another significant step in KNS’s mission to bring accessible and community-responsive education to government employees across Zambales.
The agreement highlights Castillejos LGU’s strong interest in implementing the Government Employees Upgrading Program (GEEUP) – a flagship initiative of Kolehiyo Ng Subic developed under the visionary direction of Dr. Agustin. Recognizing the program’s success and impact in other municipalities, Mayor Khonghun expressed the LGU’s commitment to providing their workforce with opportunities to pursue higher education while continuing to serve their community.
GEEUP allows government employees to maintain their regular work schedules in the daytime and attend classes in the evening, enabling them to earn a college diploma without sacrificing their responsibilities. The program is implemented through the Community Extension Services Office (CESO) of Kolehiyo Ng Subic, reflecting the institution’s dedication to empowering communities through education.
Present during the ceremonial signing were the official signatories, members of the KNS Executive Committee, representatives from the LGU Castillejos Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), and the KNS CESO. Their presence underscores the collaborative efforts and unified commitment between KNS and LGU Castillejos to uplift government workers through enhanced educational access.
In his message, Mayor Jeffrey Khonghun emphasized the importance of continuous learning and professional development, noting that an educated workforce leads to more efficient and responsive public service. Dr. Rosely Agustin, in turn, affirmed KNS’s dedication to expanding educational pathways and supporting municipalities that seek transformative programs for their employees.
The MOA Signing between LGU Castillejos and Kolehiyo Ng Subic stands as a testament to the shared vision of building stronger, more capable communities. With the implementation of GEEUP, government employees in Castillejos are now offered a clear pathway toward self-improvement, career advancement, and enhanced service to the public.
